My daughter reminded me that she needed to make something to sell in her school mini-market. She knows how to sew – and I have plenty of fabric around the house – so she decided to make these adorable emoji pillows. She had so much fun finding and drawing the emoji faces. She enlisted my other daughter to help too.
We’ve seen these things at stands at our local mall – selling for $10/pillow – and I refuse to buy because I know how easily we can make them!
- yellow fabric (we used fleece and cotton)
- Sharpies or fabric markers
- sewing machine
- stuffing (poly-fil)
Using a large bowl or plate, trace a circle on the folded fabric (to get 2 pieces)
Using the sharpie of fabric marker, draw an emoji face (do an internet search for emoji faces)
Place the 2 pieces of cutout fabric (the emoji face and the back) right-sides-together. Sew the 2 pieces together along the edge, leaving a 4-6″ hole.
Turn the sewn pillow right-sides-out and stuff with poly-fil
Sew up the hole and you have yourself adorable emoji pillows!
